If display technology is whats getting everyone excited about their smartphones than Samsung and LG will have an edge over the rest, as both these companies produce their own panels.

Ever since Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S8 flagship with a display screen that appear seamless from end to end calling it Infinity display, the next move in topping that was left to Apple or maybe even Huawei. But neither of these two have a display factory in their holdings, however the only other obvious player no doubt not being as prominent was LG. The company has just teased the public with its next smartphone launch possibly the G7 at IFA that will be using OLED technology with what it calls FullVision display.

LG has been pushing OLED technology with TV panels know for its amazingly striking imagery and is bringing the technology to smartphones first seen on the LG Flex 2 in 2015. Beyond their slim profile and excellent visuals, OLED displays in smartphones are ideal for VR applications, one of the key growth areas in the smartphone industry.

At 6″, the OLED FullVision display will be LG’s largest in four years while the actual body will be smaller than last year’s LG V20. To maximise viewable screen space, the LG logo has been removed from the bottom of the display with the upper and lower bezels reduced by 20 and 50 percent, respectively, compared the V20.

It will be supported with 4.15 million pixels QHD+  which reproduces better black and colors with more accuracy than conventional LCD displays. Another intrinsic advantage of the technology is operational response time that is ten times faster than LCD. T
