Leaks Suggest Samsung Bringing Over A Lite Galaxy S6 Tab Soon; But Does It Come With The S Pen?

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S6 last year was up there in terms of one of the best tablets around, and now reportedly they’re bringing a budget version with a ‘Lite’ variant of the S6 Tab. Android Headlines reported leaked details of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, which will be a lower specced version of the original Tab S6. According to reports, it will resemble the Tab S6 in terms of in the size and shape, but will have a mid-ranged spec Exynos 9611 chip, 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

The leaks however, didn’t include any other details such as the launch date, and price. However considering that the Tab S5e is already more than a year old and was priced RM1999, we could assume it’ll be somewhere along those lines of pricing. But one thing to note from these leaks is that S Pen in the picture. The stylus looks too big to go back into the tab itself. Meaning, it could be a separate purchase and optional, unlike the Tab S6 which has a stylus included, and retractable into the device itself.

Guess they would have to cut the cost somewhere. Even so, with only that the differentiator from the original Tab S6, it’s still looking to be a worthy tablet companion in 2020. Tablets don’t follow the same rules as smartphones in terms of having the latest specs. I feel with a tablet, the differences itself are minute when you’re talking about specs, and essentially a mid-range tablet should get the job done. You don’t need the pricier camera and screen upgrades that most smartphones offer every year.

And at the price difference of the Tab S6 which would cost you RM3099, in comparison to the Tab S6e’s RM1999 predicted price point, it’s hard to argue its appeal.
