Lazada Cuts Commission For Local Sellers



Heeding the call to drive eCommerce adoption by retailers, Lazada Malaysia has decided to drop its commission rate to 0% to all local sellers for products sold in the Fashion category, and a 2% commission rate applicable to all other categories excluding electronics & home appliances. 

The aim for the waiver is to encourage new and existing sellers to focus in building their online presence, with the potential of reaching to over 30 million Malaysians. Making doing business online easier, faster the eCommerce site has also implemented measures where new sellers can now start selling in 15 minutes through the introduction of a simplified sign-up form which requires registrants to provide just their email address, telephone number and address.

With 20,000 sellers on board, Lazada looks to grow the SME sector further with its initiatives online and is on track to bring 50,000 merchants onto our platform by end of 2018.
