Alan Wake will be gone for good after this week end so there’s a final flash sale going on right now on Steam.
Developer Remedy Entertainment wrote on a community post noting “The music licenses for Alan Wake are expiring. As a result, the game is going to be taken out of physical and digital retail. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will stay in retail. We’re having a 90% off “Sunset Sale” for Alan Wake on Steam 13.–15.5.2017”
The discounted items in The Alan Wake Franchise includes Alan Wake, all DLC, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. Remedy said they are “looking into relicensing the music for Alan Wake, but have no timeframe for this.”
Remedy assures that Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will remain in stores. Although, Remedy can only control Steam pricing, so the sale will only be reflected in Steam.
The game will be removed from stores after 5/15 and that includes Xbox 360 marketplace.
The Steam version of the game will be discounted 90 percent starting Saturday, May 13, from its current price of $30 to an extremely low price of $3. The follow-up Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will also be discounted (along with all DLC for the original game).
