The trend these days have very heavily leaned towards foldable smartphones and displays. Our best examples? Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, and Galaxy Z Flip. Other companies like Huawei, Xiaomi and Microsoft also are making their way with their ideas of what a foldable should be. However, LG is taking another approach to the game with making devices that are compatible with an optional, attachable second display.

LG has revealed their latest entry into the V series of smartphones, the V60 ThinQ 5G. At its very base, it’s a pretty all-round device which has all their bases covered. Plus a secondary screen. The primary screen is a 6.8″ OLED display which can be paired with their attachable LG Dual Screen, which allows for easier multitasking.

The V60 comes with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 processor, making it a flagship powered device. That along with a whopping 5000 mAh battery, 5G capabilities, and triple camera setup with a 64MP lens and time-of-flight (TOF) sensors capable of 8K video recording, makes for a compelling argument. Even from what little I’ve seen of the device, I can’t say they haven’t caught my eye. It’s a simple solution to users who need that extra screen real estate, but isn’t ready to invest in the hefty price tag of a foldable device.

But for now, the price of the LG V60 ThinQ 5G hasn’t been revealed yet, but considering the device is slated to be available next month in North America, we should get one soon enough.

Though, I have to say the device does look appealing. The very concept of it is a good idea, especially with concerns with durability of foldables that’ve come into question as of late. The device definitely needs to be appreciated more, because I feel the way they’re going about ‘foldables’, is unique.
