Intel’s Game Changing ‘Optane’ Memory On Its Way to Partners Testing

Intel has long hinted at a new kind of storage solution for enterprises that blend SSD capacity and speed with cache-type usage. At CES 2017, they called this product ‘Optane SSDs’ and now they’ve started to ship these to their partners for testing.

Optane storage is aimed at being rewriting the way server cost-to-performance is calculated. This opens up storage options and we can expect partners like HP, Intel, Dell and Lenovo to start providing for the new storage option. Here’s a quick video to demonstrate just how it works:
