In just a few days – June 8 to be exact – Intel’s most famous chip, the 8086, will turn 40. It appears as though Intel haven’t forgotten about it too; some vendors have reportedly put up a special anniversary edition of the 8086 for sale: the Intel Core i7-8086K.

Some retailers have already started listing the new i7-8086K on their websites. They appear to be going for EUR480, indicating a very high end processor. We don’t know much about it just yet, though it is claimed to be a 5.0GHz chip. Additionally, we expect it to be a six-core model.

It shouldn’t be too long before we get something official from Intel. The tech giant will be hosting a keynote on June 5; we can expect to see Intel announce the special anniversary edition i7-8086k then.
