Intel is adding more series for its memory family with the introduction of Intel Optane SSD 800P designed to accelerate slow and lagging storage in hard disks and SATA SSd’s. Made for consumer use, the 800P joins the 900P designed for gaming and heavy spreadsheet work, with no moving parts Intel boasts the SSD’s provide excellent performance, low latency and power efficiency.
Built to enable fast boot up, the Optane SSD 800P is capable of speedy application load times and explicit multitasking delivery. It can be used as a standalone SSD, in a dual drive setup or in a multiple SSD RAID configuration (PCH-based or CPU-based). The drive also supports lower-power states, allowing it to operate in devices like laptops and 2 in 1 devices, as well as desktop systems. Performance is optimum in low queue depth random workloads, where most client system activity takes place delivering stable responsiveness and throughput.
The 800P is available in 58GB and 118GB capacities in the M.2 2280 form factor using an NVMe PCIe 3.0 x2 interface. Suitable for desktop, laptops, NUC and client workstations systems operating on 7th Generation Intel Core and above.
