Instagram recently announced that it has grown to include more than 600 million users. What’s most astonishing is just how many of them only recently signed up for the service. According to their statistics, the last 100 million members only joined half a year ago.

This big boost can probably be attributed to the big changes that have come to the platform, paired with the decline of its competitors. Vine, for instance has vanished, and Instagram’s Snapchat-like features now fully integrated, it’s easy to see why more people are turning to the app.
The further tightening between Instagram and Facebook too has helped the platform.
