According to Reuters, study finds that illegal film and tv streaming is the largest amount of piracy activity to date. The peer to peer sharing trend has shifted to this new trend of illegal online streaming. In today’s piracy cases, P2P networks has lost its popularity, as consumers becomes more tech savvy, they tend to shift to the safer option, which is online streaming.

Online P2P sites like PirateBay and the recently closed Kickasstorrents have seen a significant decrease in user visits. Hollywood have asked Google to remove sites relating to piracy, but these sites managed to evade restrictions with the change of URL and VPN services.

The US continues to be the biggest source of piracy activities followed by the UK, Germany and France.
