Barely a week after the global launch of its newest flagship, Huawei has done the unthinkable; it has delivered on its promise to introduce the newest flagships in Malaysia as the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro launch to much fanfare.

For the first time ever, Malaysia is part of the first wave for the global release of an all-powerful flagship. Both Huawei P20 and P20 Pro launch with the following prices – RM2,599 and RM3,299 respectively – and will be available for purchase from 6 April 2018.

These two next-gen flagships run on the HiSilicon Kirin 970. Unlike other flagships, this System-on-Chip packs in a highly optimised artificial intelligence (AI) platform. It is with this mobile processor that the new Huawei flagships are able to power its advanced features. This includes managing power efficiency and performance delivery improvements.

On the optics front, the Huawei P20 sports a dual-lens rear-facing shooter. This innovation consists of two 12-Megapixels snappers, one in RGB and another rocking a monochrome sensor. As it will be working with the SoC-embedded AI, it promises loads of feature-packed photo-taking capabilities.

More impressive is the Huawei P20 Pro as it rocks the world’s first tri-lens sharp-shooter. The first two lenses consist of a 40-Megapixles RGB with 20-Megapixels monochrome sensor setup. The third is an 8-Megapixels telephoto lens.

These next-gen flagships have set a number of new design and performance benchmarks. This being brand-new flagships from Huawei, they will come with added user bonuses and enhanced accessories. At press time, Huawei only confirms that the flip-cases are coming to Malaysia. Similarly, only three colours are showing up: Black and Midnight Blue, along with Pink Gold. Unfortunately, Twilight isn’t part of the launch plans for Malaysia.

Further to that, there’ll be a roadshow for those who are keen to check out these new Huawei devices. If anything, Huawei is hitting all the right notes this time and taking things to the next level.
