If anyone watched Star Trek will recognise this cube as the Borg which keeps recurring in the episodes and terrorising the hell out the Enterprise crew. The HP Omen X desktop showed above resembles the alien spaceship which was always enigmatic, deadly and mysterious, much like the gaming PC.

Introducing a new range of high end gaming machines including the Omen X 900 series desktop (three models were introduced) and also come with a family of a curved display, Omen 17.3″  and Omen with SteelSeries accessories, HP is making a comeback and throws a warning to the rest.

While we await the launch of the Omen X here, lets look at how its built and does it live-up to the reputation. On the graphic front there’s the dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and dual AMD Radeon R9 Fury X to choose from, at the heart of the beast is the 6th generation Intel Core i5/i7 processor with overclocking capability paired. Good news is its got a VR-ready gpu and will offer an immersive 4K experiences for those triple A games.

There is also the three 120mm liquid cooling radiators with top mounted exhaust vents and a stand that lifts the case off the ground to help pull cool air in, allowing for maximum ventilation.

Gamers can also purchase the base and build their own PC from ground up, giving a DIY option for modders and create their own customised syste. Which enthusiasts are into nowadays.  The standalone chassis provides the same thermal benefits of the tri-chamber design and industry standards.

HP also collaborated with Maingear to build customised PCs for the ultra-enthusiast. The Maingear Omen X desktop will be available to customers in early 2017.
