As some of you may know (most definitely know), KFC has a 2020 promo going on right now, their 2020.02.20 where they’re letting you buy 2 snack plate combo for only RM20. Of course, seeing this almost a week in advance, we thought we’d be prepared enough. The whole office was abuzz with getting KFC for lunch at such a deal, so we thought alright, let’s just go and get it. Little did we know, that by the time we got there, the line was already till outside the outlet, near the entrance of the mall.
We had passed another KFC on the way, saw it was packed, and decided to find another.
Well, now it seems like that was a mistake. The line very slowly moved but inched our way closer into the KFC outlet. Even that it seems, was not enough. About half an hour in and we had barely moved 5 steps. We left the office at 12:40 PM. Just for reference, the promo started at at 10AM so we weren’t that late, but failed to account for other people salivating at the promo. We thought it’d be alright, there wouldn’t be too many people here, but boy, were we wrong.
The line started moving slowly, some people gave up and left, and eventually, we were almost at the door. Just one more step, and I was in. Then I thought, why not check my phone. I then went to the KFC app, just to check out the menu in case I wanted anything else, and I saw the promo. Right in front of me, after having wasted an hour and some, I saw that we could have just GOTTEN THIS F***ING DELIVERED.
But I was too invested to give up. We were so close to getting our finger licking good chicken, and getting the heck out of there.
I waited another 30 minutes to get to the front of the line to order.
I wasn’t the only one feeling fed up with the situation and wanted to leave. My colleagues were about done with this whole thing, but like I said, we were so close. If we had left now, the hour and a half we had waited in line would’ve been a waste of time and we’d just go back hungry. Not to mention disappointing the rest of the office. But we persevered and eventually got out of the KFC and back to our office.
I had wasted 2 hours of my day, waiting in line, to get KFC. WHEN I COULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN IT DELIVERED TO THE OFFICE THE WHOLE TIME AND SAVED US THE TROUBLE.
Okay fine, maybe I am overreacting a bit, but that doesn’t change the fact that this could’ve been so much easier if KFC had just put this on their original poster. The one we saw, showed that the offer was only available at the counter. Only when I checked in-app did it say we could order it.
This looked to be such a gigantic waste of time, but I guess it’s all worth it for the Colonel’s World Famous Fried Chicken right?
Nah, not really.
