All It Took For Authorities To Immediately Fix This Pothole Was For A Man To Put A Literal TOMBSTONE In It

That’s right. You read that correctly. A man, sick of the inaction by authorities when it comes to patching up potholes in his area decided to be the change he wants to see in the world, albeit in manner that also makes a statement. Instead of patching up the hole himself, which he’s done many times, he opted to send a message by putting a tombstone in it.

Pictures posted on the Facebook page of Ikatan Silaturrahim Brotherhood Shah Alam, a local road safety activist group, that soon became viral show a man taking a tombstone and placing it in what looks like a pretty nasty pothole somewhere in Klang.

“You called us stupid for placing a tombstone in a pothole but you’re even more stupid for ignoring all the complaints that have been made and for the lack of response and actions taken by your side,” says the post.

The post explains that the tombstone symbolises the lives of road users who are at risk due to potholes, with the whole point of the stunt aimed at the Klang Municipal Council, the city council in charge of the roads upkeep.

The best part is, within 12 hours of posting it online, the local authorities patched up the pothole. The brotherhood, who have been advocating for the road safety of motorcyclists since 2011, then put up another post praising the man, who also happens to be a brotherhood member.

In spite of the fact that it’s been patched up however, the brotherhood claim that the quality of the repair works are subpar. Given that the group is well known for fixing potholes with money that comes out of their own pocket, i’m pretty sure they know what they’re talking about.

The group is actually led by Malaysian actor, Azlan Sani Zawawi, better known as Lando among his fans. Besides fixing potholes, they also educate the public on the kind of action they can take against the government should they be involved in a road accident due to damaged roads.
