The Hoverboard from Back To The Future still continues to allude commercial production, there has been many attempts with prototypes and sample models but even if we were to have one mastering balancing skills on a magnetic board can be tricky. Whats more fact than fiction is the Hoverbike, a somewhat oversize drone that can carry a person and large payloads making it ideal for even delivering supplies to remote locations.

Created by the engineers at Survice and Malloy Aeronautics —who are contract developers for the US Army research laboratory, have worked on the Hoverbike design with the backing of the army. With test units already available an open for orders, the vehicle can lift 130kg (300lb) just like a helicopter, can fly to the same speed and height as a typical light helicopter, but unlike a helicopter it can operate safely close to the ground and around people, and can be done so, with little or no training.

Its basically a large quadcopter the size of a small car, with a electronic flight controller brain and a simple all electric drive system.The flight computer uses an array of sensors to fly and navigate the vehicle. Future variants of the Hoverbike will have additional sensors and software to allow the vehicle to sense and avoid obstacles in its environment.
