HONOR has introduced Malaysia’s first personalised after-sales protection policy for foldable phones, aimed at tackling concerns over high screen repair costs. The new policy accompanies the launch of the HONOR Magic V5 and includes a Worry-Free 1-Year Crack Protection and a 2-Year Quality Assurance for screen-related issues.

Foldable screen repairs typically cost up to RM2,600 for inner screens and RM600 for outer screens, which has contributed to buyer hesitation. HONOR’s coverage allows users a one-time free screen replacement within a year for accidental damage, with just a RM60 labour fee. Meanwhile, the two-year plan covers defects such as green lines or water seepage.

To support faster repairs, HONOR has also equipped 14 service centres nationwide to handle on-site foldable screen repairs, aiming to reduce user downtime.

The device’s build has also been strengthened with a new three-layer protection system, combining scratch resistance, aerospace-grade support and a shock-absorbing layer that hardens on impact.

The Magic V5 is now open for pre-orders until July 24, with early buyers receiving gifts worth RM3,497.
