Honor officially announces the new GPU Turbo, a graphics processing acceleration technology from them. GPU Turbo dramatically increases graphics processing efficiency of mobile phones. It does so thanks to hardware-software integration. This provides users with a smoother and faster mobile experience.
“We’re thrilled to achieve this technology breakthrough as Honor has strived to provide the best user experience to our global customers.” says George Zhao, President of Honor. “With this GPU Turbo, we are confident that we can highly improve our market advantages by significantly enhancing our graphics processing efficiency and offering the impeccable mobile experience.”
Honor’s GPU Turbo is a hardware-software integrated graphics processing acceleration technology. It reconstructs the traditional graphics processing framework at the lower layer system, greatly improving the user experience. It took awhile but Huawei and Honor have achieved a key technological breakthrough in mobile graphics. This feature improves graphics processing efficiency by 60% while reducing the SoC power consumption by 30%. This exceeds the previously known limits of balance between smartphone performance and energy consumption. We can expect Honor devices to produce incredible graphics quality even if the application it’s using doesn’t support HDR imaging.
GPU Turbo will benefit mobile games that require higher graphics processing efficiency. It’ll enhance the speed and optimise gaming experience dramatically. The feature is set to be the core capability of Honor smartphones, resulting in an excellent integration between smartphone hardware and EMUI software, as well as a smoother top layer graphics application. GPU Turbo also supports AR and VR in the future, allowing for even more possibilities for Honor users everywhere.
Honor will introduce the GPU Turbo to the Honor Play for now. Other Honor devices will eventually get the feature. The most exciting part though is that worldwide Honor users (us) will be getting the feature too!
