If you caught the Sepang F1 Grand Prix recently, the winning team on the podium was Red Bulls Danial Ricciardo and Max Verstappen clinching the one two position for the first time this season. As elated as the winners and the crew were, so was Hisense the official Television supplier for the racing team.
China’s prominent electronics manufacturer has just installed new state of the art screen within the Red Bull Racing ‘AT & T Operations Room, that keeps the team updated on the operation floor. Critical for monitoring the intense performance from the track.
With the main factory for the cars located in UK, the team at the race location are provided with invaluable support and infrastructure from the operations room, where specialists will need to collate and report on crucial data and feed information to the engineering team in the garage.
The screen will be used to view the timing data and Formula One Management Limited broadcast footage, with a live link to the in-garage feed at the track. The giant LED screen of 9.6 metres by 3.6 metres, delivers efficient delivery of vital information from track to factory, allowing the team in the AT & T Operations Room, to support the track side engineering team more effectively.
Will Courtenay, Red Bull Racing Head of Strategy. “We’ll have GPS information up there, timing, the video feeds that people see at home that we have at the track so that (the engineers) can see what is going on in the garage, what is happening at the pit wall… even though they might be thousands of miles away, effectively it’s as if they are there with us – they have all the same information.” He added.
“Hisense are thrilled to be the Official Television Supplier to Red Bull Racing and we’re extremely proud to be able to support their race day operations with our technology” Said Bob Wang, Director of Marketing at Hisense.
