But now, after separating from Xiaomi, they’ve released their first phone after the divorce. The X2 comes with a Snapdragon 730G processor, a 6.67″ 1080p LCD display capable of a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 4500mAh battery with 27W fast charging. It has a USB-C port, and has a fingerprint sensor on the power button itself. Oh, and it has a headphone jack.

On the photography side of things, this is the first phone in India to feature Sony’s new 64-megapixel IMX686 sensor, and also comes with an 8MP ultrawide came, 2MP macro module and 2MP depth sensor. The front features a 20MP selfie camera with a 2MP depth sensor in the hole-punch display.
Admittedly, it’s impressive to pack those specs into a Rs. 15,999 (RM~925) base price AND have a 120Hz refresh rate, it still felt lackluster. Not to mention the fact that the phone is identical to Xiaomi’s Redmi K30, so it’s essentially a re-skin of the device. That kind of takes away from it, but the main problem I feel is that it came overwhelmingly disappointing when it showed the device had a Snapdragon 730G. If it had come with the Snapdragon 865 or even 855, I’d be singing a different tune. But hey, can’t win em’ all, can ya?
The Poco X2 comes in three variants:
- 6GB + 64GB for Rs. 15,999(RM~925)
- 6GB + 128GB for Rs. 16,999(RM~980)
- 8GB + 256GB for Rs. 19,999 (RM~1155)
No word on Malaysian availability, but I’m sure you’ll find the device somehow when it launches 11th in India.
