HELLO MOTO; Motorola Back In The Game With Their Latest Flagship, The Motorola Edge+

Motorola have finally released their latest flagship, the Edge+ via a online launch event. The device is pretty stacked when you take a look on what’s on paper, so let’s get into it.

Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Complementing it is a huge 5000mAh battery, and is also capable of fast wireless charging called TurboPower. On the display side of things, the Edge+ rocks a 6.7-inch “Endless Edge” (fancy way of saying waterfall display) FHD+ OLED panel. It will also be capable of a 90Hz refresh rate, so that’s pretty cool too. The Edge+ also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The main thing about Motorola’s latest flagship is the quad-camera setup on the rear. They’ve got a 108MP main sensor, 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, 16MP ultra-wide sensor and a Time of Flight (TOF) depth sensor. For the front facing camera, the Edge+ comes with a 25MP sensor.

Lastly, the device comes with Bluetooth 5.1, 5G enabled, and has Wi-Fi 6. All the makings of a 2020 flagship right here.

I’m not gonna lie, this does seem like a very impressive foray into the flagship game, so I’m excited to see more from Motorola. They did come out with the Motorola Razr earlier this year, so it seems it’s a return to form for the smartphone manufacturers.

The Motorola Edge+ will be available in the U.S. and Europe starting May 14 for $999 (~RM4350). There will be two colour variants, Smokey Sangria and Thunder Grey. Unfortunately, for now, we don’t have word on Malaysian availability, but hopefully it does make its way over here.
