Haven & New Balance Team Up Again For A Highly Reflective MUST COP 990v5

It’s the mesh that goes over the 3M accents that really give this shoe a personality.

It’s 2020 and New Balance is very much back in “trend”. No, this isn’t like the last time when you suddenly started seeing a whole bunch of people rocking 574’s to the point where the silhouette actually started to haunt you in your dreams. This time, it’s a different model, a lot more subtle and also a hell of a lot more pleasing on the eyes.

The NB 990v5’s have been “back” in relevance for a few years now and it’s only over the last year or so that you’re seeing more and more people rock these kicks. I mean, don’t get me wrong there are tonnes of people with 990’s out there right now but it doesn’t inspire the gag reflex that the 574’s did, in fact it’s quite the opposite with the 990’s (Though it’s probably because most of those who rock em actually know how to dress well).

That being said, Haven and New Balance have teamed up again and this time, they’ve gone for a lush grey colour scheme after last year’s all black 990v5. The best part? The sneaker is rich in 3M details, which will delight most sneakerheads out there for sure.

The shoe pretty much looks like a typical 990v5 but it’s the tiny 3M details that really make it pop. On the tongue you get that familiar “MADE IN THE USA” stamp, with the upper consisting of Horween leather on the interiors, delicate pigskin suede on the outerwalls and of course a bed of breathable CORDURA fabric that go over the 3M accents of the shoe. It’s the mesh that goes over the 3M accents that really give this shoe a personality.

Speaking of 3M accents, New Balance’ instantly recognizable N logo gets the 3M treatment as well, along with the “v” marked heel counter. The HAVEN x New Balance M990RG5 will be available on tomorrow, March 14 at 4:00 AM Malaysian time on HAVEN’s website for $210 USD (RM899.50).
