GTA V’s New Heist

It looks like Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is finally getting a new GTA V Online Update known as the Doomsday Heist. This will be only the second heist to ever come to the Online contingent of GTA V, with the first making its appearance on 10 March 2015.

The storyline behind the Doomsday Heist will pit you and three other friends as you try to save San Andreas from impending doom. To help you along the way, you will team up with an “unlikely alliance” between some of the characters seen in the game. Here is the full plot summary from Rockstar games:

A billionaire tech mogul, an idealistic intelligence agent, a socially awkward conspiracy theorist and a neurotic supercomputer have been forced into an unlikely alliance to save San Andreas from total annihilation. As apocalyptic threats mount from enemies unknown, you and your criminal crew are enlisted to un-tangle mysteries and eradicate threats spanning from the bustling streets of downtown Los Santos to the ocean floor and all the way to the inner depths of Mount Chiliad in an epic new online adventure.

From the cover image, it seems you will be getting tons of new vehicles and weapons to create chaos with as we can see jetpacks and underwater cars that can fire missiles. Leave it to Rockstar Games and GTA to make your wildest fantasies come true.

With Heists being one of the biggest crowd pullers in GTA V Online until today (present company included), it is refreshing to see Rockstar Games finally introducing a new segment into it as the current one has gotten stale. What makes the current heist even worse is the level of exploitation many players have discovered over the past two years, which grants them plenty of in-game cash through a couple of levels of grinding.

Of course, that isn’t necessarily the players’ fault as the payout for the current Heist is pretty abysmal. Let’s hope the payout for Doomsday Heist will be a lot more enticing than its predecessor.

The GTA V Online Doomsday Heist will be coming out 12 December 2017 and thankfully, not in the form of pre-purchase DLC.
