Grab Introduces Photo Sharing Feature

Ever used Grab ride-hailing service, only to wonder where the driver is and if he is able to spot the location you’re standing? Well, we have and it can be daunting, especially if you’re rushing for your next appointment. This will no longer be a problem with Grab’s new photo-sharing feature in the GrabChat app.

Before GrabChat was introduced, cancellations were on a high due to users not being able to communicate with drivers. In fact, over 50% of the cancellations was due to this. Since its introduction, the changes have been significant enough that it is proving to be a useful tool within the app.

Now with the photo-sharing function, users can pinpoint their location by snapping a photo of where they are standing and send it over to their driver. This will reduce the anxiety for users!

Grab has plans to use these photos in the future. The location snapped can be assigned as accurate and designated Point-of-Interest locations (green dots). By collating the data, the company can better understand why customers choose different waiting spots for different locations.

The company also plans to have the communication go both ways; drivers can send photos to the customers if the plan goes well. This can lead to even fewer cancellations and even shorter time for customers to find their ride.
