After successfully launching the community crowdbacking project in 2016, Webe Community went on to kick start the 5 listed projects including a dengue detection app, classroom for the under privileged using 40 foot containers, a zombie movie and one mans quest to ride his bicycle to China in order to raise awareness on dilapidated homes around the country that needed fixing.

Since unlocking all the projects, Webe is now launching another series of projects for this year with a refreshed and enhanced community platform which has been opened to all Malaysians inviting to submit their next big ideas. Criteria is for these ideas or projects to bring positive changes in the lives of the communities around them for evaluation.

“As a community led brand, we have decided on what products to bring to market and how we would like to support the communities that matter the most – Malaysians. Last year, we saw five interesting projects coming to life through the efforts of our Project Champions. This year we’re looking for the next batch of Project Champions who believe that things can be better for the community!” said Lai Shu Wei, Chief Marketing Officer, webe.

Successful projects that gets picked by the team and judges at Webe will then get to be listed on the site and will then be open to the public to back it by voting, upon receiving the required target, the project will be then fully funded by the telco for execution.
