Fans waiting for the latest Google Nexus Android smartphone need not wait any longer, the Huawei Nexus 6P powered by the popular mobile OS with 6.0 Marshmallow has just been launched together with Huawei Watch powered by Android Wear. The devices were unveiled at a preview in Google Malaysia office.
“Today’s event is a sign of things to come from the Huawei quarters. We are very proud of our portfolio and the way 2015 has shaped up for us. The devices we are launching today stand out because they symbolize the future of connectivity. Understandably, we are very excited about ending 2015 on a high note with these two devices!” said Danny Chin, Southern Pacific Marketing Director of Consumer Business Group, Huawei Technologies Malaysia at the media launch event.
“In Huawei’s commitment to deliver the ultimate Android experience through the perfect combination of hardware and software, Nexus 6P uses the world’s latest Android OS, Android Marshmallow 6.0, which users can be ensured of being the first to received software updates and the fastest Android version.” he elaborated.
The 6P is the first Nexus device with full metal unibody the phone comes with a 5.7” WQHD AMOLED display which is ideal for games, watching movies and daylight viewing. It has a front-facing stereo speaker for crisp and clear sound that enhances the audio experience.
It is equipped with a fingerprint sensor at the back of the device, similar to the design in Huawei Mate S according to the company is for quicker access. It also comes with preinstalled Google apps; Maps, Chrome, YouTube, Photos, Gmail, Drive and other apps in its portfolio.
Installed inside is the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor powerfull yet not a battery drainer the 3, 450mAh battery keeps for longer operational. Paired with a reversible USB Type-C port for fast charging, users can get 7 hours of use in just 10 minutes of charging.
The Huawei Watch
The launch also featured the Huawei Watch speaking about their roadmap for the wearable segment, Mr. Danny commented, “The Huawei Watch is the next evolutionary step for Huawei wearables and it is a gorgeous device that encapsulates elegance and style at its best. Huawei Watch has drawn interest from all quarters since it was first showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in February 2015. Wearables, especially the Huawei Watch, truly define the thinning boundaries between fashion and features, devices and accessories. The Huawei Watch is a star in this segment, with looks that made its global audience name it “the most beautiful smart watch” when it was first showcased.” Danny elaborated.
The timepiece has a dimension of 42mm in diameter and has a unique fully circular watch face that boasts a AMOLED display, so now worries in dark places or cinemas. There are different strap choices for the trendy: stainless steel links, black plated stainless steel links and black leather that are easily interchangeable with any watch strap with 18mm width lug interface. Just like some competitors in the market the watch offers bespoke watch face designs with over 40 surfaces to choose from like classic, luxury, business and modern.
Compatible with other smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher and iOS, the smart wear from Huawei runs on Qualcomm 1.2GHz processor and includes 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and Bluetooth 4.1.
The watch features a heart rate monitor sensor, 6-Axis motion sensor, and barometer sensor that automatically detects and tracks in real-time if a user is walking, running, biking, hiking or sleeping. Users can specifically monitor from the number of calories burned to heart rate, climbing height, steps taken and distance travelled.
The Nexus 6P will be available at Vmall.my and Lazada and Huawei Watch will be available at Vmall.my from 10th December 2015.
