Microsoft have added Windows 10 and Xbox One Crossplay to Gears of War 4. This means if you have a friend with an Xbox One, you can find him in public Versus Multiplayer Mode while playing on a Windows 10 PC!
This step is planned to be a permanent move but the first few months are being labeled as a ‘trial period’ in order to monitor player feedback alongside data to ensure the Test Weekend is representative. Core and Competitive games will remain platform independent, so only unranked games will be able to utilise cross-platform multiplayer.
