Gearbox took to Twitter to tease their newest game.Titled Mask of Mayhem, there isn’t much to go on right now besides their teaser video. In the video however, they’ve shown characters from past games such as Brick, Mordecai, and enemies that we’ve come to love in this diabolical wasteland. Borderlands is Gearbox’s take on a looter shooter, with tons of guns, iconic enemies and storytelling. No one does it quite like Borderlands, in my opinion. One of my very first looter shooters, the franchise has a special place in my heart that hasn’t really been replaced yet.

Gearbox has been teasing for a while now about something Borderlands related, but now it seems their ready to announce whatever they have. However, based on current trends in the gaming industry, this might be their take on a Battle Royale. While the setting and environment of the game might make sense to be a Battle Royale, I really hope it isn’t.

This will be the first Borderlands game in what feels like forever, but actually has been since 2014, Borderlands The Pre Sequel. Hopefully they stay true to form, and give fans what they’ve waited for, since practically a decade.
