For fitness enthusiasts, a low productivity environment can affect your mood to exercise at home. Garmin saw the problem, so they’ve launched the Garmin Squad Virtual Challenge to help motivate you through your workout at home.

One of Garmin’s more fitness focused watches, the Forerunner 245 series, features advanced running dynamics monitoring, including ground contact time balance, stride length, vertical ratio and more. The Forerunner 245 Music essentially has the added feature to sync with music streaming services such as Spotify. They both feature similar battery life with up to 7 days in smartwatch mode and up to 6 hours in GPS mode with music.

The Instinct is designed to be a rugged outdoor watch, constructed to U.S. military standard 810G for thermal, shock and water resistance (rated to 100 meters). Users will also be able to monitor their heart rate, activity and stress, and train with pre-loaded activity profiles.

The ‘Instinct Tactical’ on the other hand, comes with more ‘Tactical-specific features’. This includes stealth mode, Jumpmaster, waypoint projection, dual-position GPS formatting and pre-loaded tactical activity. I don’t know about you, but I am VERY curious on what ‘stealth mode’ is.

In terms of battery life, the ‘Instinct’ can last up to 14 days in smartwatch mode, up to 14 hours in GPS mode, and up to 35 hours in UltraTrac battery saver mode. The “Instinct Tactical’ comes with the same battery capabilities in smartwatch mode, but has a bump to 16 hours in GPS mode, and up to 40 hours in UltraTrac battery saver mode.
