Over 700 ‘Dot Masters’ from a few states in Malaysia like Johor, Penang and East Malaysia, braved the rain to attend the first Dot Arena offline party in Zouk KL recently. To commemorate the big party FunPlus, publisher for Dot Arena, prepared RM80,000 worth of in-game items as prizes to be given away to fans. A US-China based company, FunPlus is a mobile social gaming company that mainly publishers mobile games.

Commenting on the party Ms. Yutong, Head of Emerging Markets of FunPlus, said that they will host more events in the future, naming the annual Animal Festival Asia (AFA) in Singapore, and the Comic Fiesta in Malaysia. The “Dot Arena Cosplay Party” as it is called, saw professional dancers and cosplayers in popular Dot Arena costumers. To make things even better, a lucky draw with great prizes like the iPhone 6, iPad Mini, Xiaomi smartphones and more were all available to be won.

Project Manager of Dot Arena, Kenneth Law, also revealed a new feature for the game that introduces the competitive e-sports element in –Player vs. Player (PVP) competitions. Now players can show their friends or rival who is boss, and get bragging rights.

Commenting on the feature, he said, “We want to have this game feature in open places to allow players to exchange strategies and experience on how they win a battle. It is also an ideal platform for them to hone their abilities and their dexterity skills.”

He also mentioned FunPlus’ plan to organise e-sports competitions in multiple regions including SEA, before gathering the finalists for a huge showdown. The game had already made a big appearance in this year’s World Cyber Arena in China, where competitors stood to win prizes of more than 1 million US dollars.
