Apple may be the most admired company (read below), but it’s still not the best company to work for, according to Fortune.

Running for its 20th year, the “Fortune’s 100 best companies to work for 2017” list is out and – Google tops the list again. In fact Google has been chosen as the top for six consecutive years, and has been on the list for 11 years, topping the list a total of eight times.

While Google is famous for it’s luxurious perks for staff, like free gourmet food, haircuts, and laundry services; as well as their work compound akin to a city on its own, with all forms of services and amenities; Fortune states that Google also takes a “rigorous analytical approach to morale”.

According to Fortune’s comment, “It boosted its parental-leave policies… after finding that mothers were leaving at higher rates—the result was a 50% reduction in attrition for working moms. And then there’s the culture: Town halls held by black Googlers and allies, support for transgender workers, and unconscious-bias workshops (­already attended by more than 70% of staff) help foster what employees say is a “safe and inclusive” workplace at this hive of high performers.”

The same can’t be said for any other tech companies though. Only 2 other IT companies managed to squeeze in at top 10 – with Ultimate Software and Salesforce taking 7th and 8th place respectively. Google’s fellow tech giants – including Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, IBM are nowhere to be seen on the list of top 100.

Although interesting to note, Apple and Amazon are top 2 for Fortune’s Top 100 World’s Most Admired Company, with Google’s parent company Alphabet sitting on number 6 on that list. Facebook and Microsoft comes in on a joint 9th.
