Much like Final Fantasy VII’s (FFVII) inclusion for the PS4, Final Fantasy IX (FFIX) is now available for download through the PlayStation Store. Although originally released in 2000 for the PS1, FFIX receives an enhanced makeover, much like how FFVII did.

It also takes a page out of FFVII’s version for the PS4 with HD cutscene videos, trophies and even boosters, which allows players to level up faster. Once purchasing a copy from the PS Store, you will receive a FFIX theme, which can then be applied to your PS4 home page.

For the uninitiated, FFIX focuses on Zidane Tribal, a member of a group of bandits known as Tantalus. Zidane tries to capture Princess Garnet XVII of Alexandria but little does he know, she’s been plotting her escape for much longer. Fans of the game will also get to witness the return of popular characters like Vivi and Steiner to name a few.

FFIX is now available on the PS Store at only RM52.80 until 26 September. Once it passes, it will revert back to its original price of RM66 so it’s best to get it now.
