If you are experiencing issues with your iPhone’s touchscreen, you might be eligible for a replacement from Apple. According to a report from The Verge, Apple has launched a couple of repair programs for their products which includes the non-touch Bar Macbook Pro, several of their 13-inch and their iPhone X.
The announcement came after a series of devices started experiencing “touch issues” “ attributing it to a failed component in the display module. The default caused parts of the display to not respond accordingly, with some of their products only responding part of the time, or at times reacting even users are not using the touch screen.
Apple or an authorized dealer will replace the display module for free, but Apple users should take note that if their products face any other issues such as a cracked screen or defaults that are not related to the touchscreen, that will need to be resolved first, and they might charge you for that. If you already paid to have the display module replaced, you might be able to get a refund.
As for their Macbook Pro, a “limited number” of 128 GB and 256 GB non-Touch Bar models sold between June 2017 and June 2018 have an issue with their solid-state drives. This resulted in data loss and failure.
Apple or an unauthorized dealer will service those models for free, and recommends getting them checked out sooner. Users can also check on the service page to determine if their computer is eligible for a replacement.
If you’re unsure whether or not your MacBook Pro is covered, you can enter its serial number on Apple’s website to see if it is or isn’t.
