The British Parliament has gotten its hands on several Facebook’s “internal” documents. The documents are reported to contain information in regards to Facebook’s involvement in the Cambridge Analytica scandal as well as correspondence between top executives, including Mark Zuckerberg.

According to The Guardian, the documents were handed over to the parliament by a now-defunct US company, Six4Three, who was reported to have compelled to hand the documents to the government.

The news of the handover comes after more countries pressure Zuckerberg to attend a joint international hearing in London next week that was set up to investigate disinformation and election interference. The tech giant has been under immense scrutiny for its response in regards to the spread of disinformation and propaganda on its users’ news feeds.

The Guardian also reports that the documents were seized during the discovery process in a Six4Three lawsuit that claims Facebook  as involved in creating privacy loopholes allowing Cambridge Analytica to obtain Facebook user data.

Facebook on the other hand has responded saying that the documents seized were filed under seal and the California court presiding over the case is due to consider the Parliament’s action as early as Monday.

“We consider these to be entirely without merit and that the repeated filings demonstrate that this is more about attacking our company than it is about a credible legal claim,” Richard Allan, Facebook’s head of public policy, wrote in a letter sent to Parliament Sunday.
