As part of the effort to popularise eSports scene in Asia, ESL Gaming has just announced that they are opening an office in Singapore as they expand their regional presence here in South East Asia. The new office will help the solidify ESL’s commitment to develop passionate eSports communities around the world by giving them a platform to compete at the local level, as well as the chance to witness large-scale competitions.
The Singapore office will be headed by freshly appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer, Sebastian Radu, who will take the lead on all operational and strategic efforts in the region. With over a decade of experience in the field of developing eSports around the world, he is looking to expedite the reach of esports in the region by giving the enthusiastic SEA gaming fans the roaring, live events they deserve, while also furthering their chances to compete in local tournaments themselves.
After organizing two major events in the SEA region – ESL One Manila 2016 and ESL One Genting 2017, ESL aims to add two more ESL One Dota 2 stand-alone events to the repertoire in 2018. The two events has yet to be confirmed of as of today, but will help increase the exposure of eSports in the region.
