ESL One Genting 2018 Gets Four Direct Invites

We’re a little bit over a month away from ESL One Genting 2018, and they have given us even more to look forward to. Arguably three of the top five teams in the world have been invited directly to the event alongside Malaysia’s very own Mineski, who can be considered as being part of the top 10 teams in the world.

If you’re wondering who the invitees are, it consists of recent TI7 champions Team Liquid alongside TI7 runner-ups, Newbee. Virtus Pro are also part of the list as they have put in dominating performances as of late and Mineski rounds it up. There are still five other teams who have yet to be revealed but we’re putting our money on Team Secret, Evil Geniuses and Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) taking up three spots after their performances during the ASUS ROG Dreamleague Season 8.

After the nine directly invited teams, there will be seven spots from the qualifiers, two of which will be going to the China. The other five spots will be going to the qualified teams in Southeast Asia, Europe, CIS, North America and South America.

This will be the first Minor in Malaysia with a US$400,000 prize pool. It also carries 400 Qualifying Points for the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC).

The Southeast Asian qualifiers will be happening this Saturday so if you have yet to sign up, you can head on over to ESL One’s website to check it out. If you want to catch all your favourite teams in action, you can purchase your tickets here.
