eSIM Made Easy

Progress in inevitable, and it sure is timeless.

Maxis has developed and launching the eSIM. They would be the very first telco in Malaysia to offer such plans. eSIM or embedded SIM is the advanced technology, already widely used by the developed countries such as Japan, South Korea and the USA. Now Maxis has decided to promote the future here in Malaysia and it seems Apple iPhones are getting their hands on it first.

eSIM can hold onto 2 phone lines – primary and secondary – simultaneously. So, iPhone users all over Malaysia are set to rejoice – but it is pretty sure having 2 telco lines is not as a great of a deal for Android users. However, if we were to look from the advancement of technology, it is undeniably impressive for both iPhone or Android users.

Who needs an actual SIM card, when now that we can just scan them?

Aside to be easily set up with, eSIM mostly have the same functions altogether similarly to the standard SIM. However, it is to be expected that eSIM will be much easier to handle and to care for. As it will be embedded inside your phone and it also comes along with an activation kit, consumers will not have to worry about handling a nano or micro sized SIM card. Plus, there is no need to worry about the SIM to be unrecognisable by your phone some of the times.

So the real questions kicks in. If eSIM is the now, when will Android get one of its own?

Maxis eSIM will be available for purchase nationwide for the 3 latest iPhone models – iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
