Smilegate has released a new prequel episode for its global mobile RPG Epic Seven, titled A Resolve Inherited, featuring the new 5★ Fire-element hero, Guard Captain Krau. This marks the first major update under the Epic Seven: Origin roadmap, unveiled on 29 March.

Set in the “6th World”—a timeline that faced annihilation within the game’s cyclical lore—the episode introduces Krau and a new character, Victorika, as key protagonists. All dialogue is fully voiced for an immersive experience.

Guard Captain Krau is a Warrior-class character capable of dealing significant damage proportional to his Defence, with skills that include Defence penetration, Stun debuffs, and Combat Readiness boosts.

Smilegate also introduced a suite of quality-of-life improvements aimed at supporting new players. These include a revamped “Heart of Orbis” system, enhanced guide content, reduced Catalyst requirements for hero growth, and the new “Ogre’s Armory” to streamline equipment acquisition.

To celebrate the update, a limited-time event, Operation: Catch Zieg, will begin on April 14, offering players the chance to earn rewards such as Light & Dark Elemental Moonlight Summon Tickets.
