Following the successful launch of its console on September 6 this year, Destiny 2 is now free for download on PC as a limited time offer. The promotion is made possible through collaboration between Bungie, Activision, and Blizzard, in celebration of the game’s first anniversary on the platform.

The only catch in this arrangement is a compulsory Battle.net account; which is a small price to pay to take advantage of this offer. Since it’s for the base game, the online-only multiplayer will remain playable even after the expiration period. However, gamers who already own a copy of the game are not left out either. Anyone who already own Destiny 2 will receive an exclusive in-game emblem marking the game's one-year anniversary.

The scale of the sequel to 2014’s Destiny is definitely a step up from the original game, with only the moon of Titan coming off slightly cramped and claustrophobic. There’s a plethora of new patrols, adventures and missions to sink your teeth into, before you even start to delve into the strikes and eventually the raid.

To claim Destiny 2, simply log on to the Battle.net app and click on the gift icon in the upper- right section of the panel. This will bring up a pop-up window to claim the game—it's as easy as that. You can also sign into your Battle.net account online and claim it on the web.

Most importantly, the system requirements for the game are fairly tame.
