If the Covid-19 pandemic has made us realise anything, it’s that we’ve taken the simple things in life for granted. Going out for supper, 24 hour convenience stores, and I never thought I’d ever say this but trying on clothes before you buy them.

Yup! Online shopping is nice and all but Malaysians just love going to the mall. With malls implementing social distancing measures, shops too are required to adhere to the new guidelines and part of these measures include not being able to try on clothes.

As annoying as it can be, it is what it is and it makes sense. Sometimes however, perhaps muscle memory overcomes all. Over the weekend, the police arrested 20 people for breaching the recovery movement control order (RMCO) and while most of them were arrested for having a karaoke session or heading out to a nightclub, one individual was arrested for trying on outfits at a clothing store.

That’s right, it doesn’t pay to have a passion for thrashin’ fashion! You may think that it’s a pretty harmless thing to do but this is the new normal and apparently that means you can now get arrested for trying on clothes at the mall.. Yet it’s okay for you purchase clothes, bring them on a journey back to your place, try them on.. and then return them if you’re no happy with how it looks.

Strange.
