Donald Trump’s Appointment Of WWE’s Vince McMahon As Economic Advisor Is Everything Thats Wrong With The US

There can be no doubt that America is going through the biggest crisis it’s had to deal with in recent times thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. A record number of over 16 million people have lost their jobs as a result of the American economy, which happens to be the worlds largest, coming to a standstill.

With that in mind, Trump has named over 200 top American leaders comprising of esteemed executives, economists, scholars, and industry leaders who together will form what he dubs as the Great American Economic Revival Industry Groups.

The groups, which are bipartisan (Shocking, I know) will all work closely with the White House in order to charter a path forward through this crisis. The goal here is to bring prosperity back to the United States and it starts by securing the health and wealth of America. In all honesty, it’s a great idea.

That being said, a few in the presidents selection are a bit suspect, and none more so than WWE CEO Vince McMahon. The 74 year old was named as one of several figures in sports and live event businesses group comprising of the likes of the NBA’s Adam Silver, UFC’s Dana White and Dallas Mavericks Mark Cuban.

You’d be forgiven for raising eyebrows at the appointment of Mr. McMahon. The dude is a bona fide a**hole and even some WWE wrestlers seem to think so. While the WWE has been a successful business for many years, the decision to include McMahon raises some red flags.

Trump and McMahon have a long business history dating back to the 1980s, and the pair have remained good friends over the years. Trump even famously made an appearance on WWE in 2007 in the “Battle of the Billionaires” arc, which resulted in McMahon having to shave his head.

The friendship between the two have been beneficial for both parties, with the McMahon family being one of the most notable donors during the presidents 2016 election run in and McMahon’s wife Linda being nominated and serving as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019.

With the announcement of the WWE being deemed an essential business in Florida a couple of weeks ago, reports of a conflict of interest are springing up left right and centre. The speculation that the McMahon family’s ties with Trump played a role in the announcement seems rather warranted if you ask me. Just look at this compilation of the timeline of events leading up to the announcement.

It really doesn’t get more fishy than this. It’s no wonder Trump is so against oversight and being accountable for his actions. He’s doing things like this!
