Say what you will about Donald Trump but the US president is still a human being at the end of the day. As questionable as his policies and decision making capabilities are, it’s not nice to wish ill things to happen to him, or anyone for that matter.

That being said, A member of the U.S. Navy who serves as one of President Donald Trump’s personal valets has tested positive for coronavirus according to a report by CNN. If you’re wondering just how close a valet gets to the president, the answer is very.

It turns out that the responsibilities of a presidential valet include taking care of the president’s food and drinks, as well as travelling with him when he’s on the road or out of the country. In fact, past presidents have even relied on valets as confidants on personal matters.

While it’s almost ironic that someone this close to Trump has tested positive after the president went on about how he’s not worried about the lack of social distancing inside the White House, it’s still worrying that someone as powerful as the president of the United States can be so easily exposed to the virus.

Thankfully, both the president and the vice president have since tested negative for the virus and “remain in great health.” The valet, whose identity was not given, started exhibiting symptoms on Wednesday morning. Sources close to the story say that Trump was upset upon hearing about the news.

This begs the question though, should the White House practice social distancing after this development? In the past, Trump has said that he’s not concerned given that the people around him are regularly tested.

But with the incubation period of the virus varying anywhere from 2-14 days, a negative test and lack of symptoms isn’t a sure sign that someone can’t spread the virus. People can be infectious up to two days before they start showing symptoms and these numbers vary from person to person.

Perhaps its time for Trump to start running a tighter ship eh?
