DJI Opens Registration for RoboMaster 2018

Calling all aspiring engineers, DJI has opened its registration for the upcoming RoboMaster 2018 with a grand prize of US$75,000. This annual competition will pit the top engineers who have built next-generations robotics to compete in the RoboMaster battlefield, which will be watched by a live audience as well as streamed online on Twitch.TV.

The RoboMaster 2017 Final amassed more than 814,000 online views alone while its live audience attendance was more than 10,000.

RoboMaster 2018 will be open to both college and university students alongside their instructors. Non-students are allowed to participate as well but only as advisers to the student teams. RoboMaster will be providing technical and financial support of up to US$1,500 to encourage international participants and interested teams. The monetary support will be provided once teams make it past the proposal stage and into the second round.

RoboMaster 2017 saw over 7,000 participants from 200 universities around the world. In the end, only 98 teams made it through to the second round and only 32 teams competed in the finals. Countries from all over took part, including the likes of the US, the UK and other parts of Asia. You can head over to RoboMaster’s Twitch Channel to view all the highlights from last year’s competition.
