After a long wait for fellow Malaysians, Disney+ might be coming to our beloved homeland. The rumours have been speculated due to the content service’s rollouts which includes our neighbour, Singapore. The arrival is coming along with Hotstar which is a popular streaming platform from India owned by Walt Disney Company India.
Recently, Disney+ Hotstar has launched in Indonesia and soon to be expanded to Malaysia and Singapore. It is expected to be rolled out in Singapore on February 23 before it arrives in Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea later this year.
There has been no news for its launching in the Southeast Asian countries but a social media account for Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia is now live and verified. Even a quick search on Disney’s job vacancy has revealed that they are hiring in Malaysia.
The price is actually quite affordable compared with other streaming platforms. Based on the Rupee-Ringgit currency, you can get it at only around RM 16 for monthly premium subscription while Yearly Premium will cost you around RM 83.
