The upcoming multi-choiced action-adventure, Detroit Become Human, has finally gone gold. What this means is that the game is finally ready to be produced for the masses. To celebrate this milestone, developer Quantic Dream releases the Detroit Become Human demo, which takes from the game’s very first scene, ‘Hostage’.
In the Detroit Become Human demo, players put on the shoes of Connor, a hostage negotiator android who hunts down android deviants. As a matter of fact, he enters the scene right in the midst of an active hostage situation. Connor must make quick and hard decisions to save a human girl from certain death.
Players can succeed or fail to varying degrees. For instance, the player may convince the hostage taker, Daniel, to release the girl, or may save her at the expense of Connor’s own life. No game overs exist in the game, so players will have to live with the consequences of their actions as the story progresses.
Guillaume de Fondaumiere, co-CEO of Quantic Dream, says, “Detroit: Become Human is no longer our game. Instead, it will soon become yours. Yours to play, to own, to hopefully cherish. The fate of Connor, Kara and Markus is in your hands, along with the fate of all other characters in the game.”
In addition to the demo is an Alexa Skill using Amazon’s own Alexa. Called CyberLife, it provides insights into the many characters and situations in the Hostage demo.

To get started, users need to:
1. Download the Detroit: Become Human Demo from the PS Store on PS4
2. Have access to any enabled Amazon Alexa Device
3. Download the Detroit: Become Human CyberLife Skill by saying “Alexa, enable CyberLife” or by doing a search for Cyberlife with your Amazon Alexa app (requires Alexa app and Wi-Fi internet connection).
The Detroit Become Human demo is available now from the PlayStation Store. Also, the full game releases on 25th May for PlayStation 4.
