The world’s biggest comic book convention, San Diego Comic-Con has been cancelled. The announcement comes as the health advisories in California made a statement that on the risk the convention of such a size would hold for the state.
The convention which attracts over 100,000 visitors a year was initially scheduled to take place from July 23 to July 26 but will instead take place from July 22 to July 25 next year.
The significant event of the year is one of the many that saw a similar predicament as others such as E3, Mobile World Congress, Game Developers Conferences as well as the Wimbledon Championships had also faced delays or cancellations earlier this year.
Spokesperson for the organisation, David Glanzer stated that extraordinary times require extraordinary measures and believes the decision taken to cancel the convention is the right decision.
