Consecutive Ones

WeChat, a mobile social communication application, holds on to the top of the free app chart for six consecutive weeks as the top downloaded mobile social application on Google Play and App Store in Malaysia. Currently, it has a 60% penetration rate in Malaysia amongst its smartphone users.

WeChat - 1

“WeChat is not only a messaging app that allows friends to connect with each other, it also allows brands to directly interact with their customers creating a personalised two-way channel for brands to speak and listen to its users. We have free SDK and API for developers to develop apps on WeChat. Our company aims to create a unique ecosystem where users can connect socially and indulge in interactive functions, making it an all-in-one app, to serve the different needs of our users,” says Poshu Yeung, Vice President of Tencent Internatonal Business.

Furthermore, the app partners up with brands like Domino’s Pizza, and engaging Lisa Surihani and Shaheizy Sam as ambassadors. This enables users to add official celebrity and brand accounts to stay updated with the latest happenings, discounts and events.

The company also shared its future online mobile activity as it plans to get the community involved as its platform develops. With all this going on, WeChat hopes to seamlessly increase interaction and transaction for the public and businesses.
