The Nubia Alpha first made its appearance 2 months back, the form factor startled many techies as we were not sure if this is categorised as a smartwatch or smartphone.

Founded October 2012, Nubia is known for its cheap smartphones with Malaysia carrying some of the models. The company even managed to secure the signature of C Ronaldo the famous footballer as its ambassador at some point. But as most Chinese brands, Nubia is also seeking to carve a niche in the tightly fought mobile market and what will create a better attention than being innovative and breaking the conventional mould.

Previewed at IFA, the Nubia Alpha will make its debut in the States at CES, the device features a flexible OLED panel that wraps around the wrist and runs the Android system. The screen is large enough to display multiple of apps, and is fitted with 4G LTE modem and a microspeaker. Its got all the function of a modern day fitness tracker with a combined functionality of a smartphone.

Ingenious? We will leave the verdict to the consumers!

Visitors will also have a chance to see the Red Mars and Nubia X – a flagship phone unveiled in China on late October which comes with a dual display (6.26-inch Full HD+) and a secondary 5.1-inch OLED display at the back which offers 1520×720 pixels screen resolution.
