CES 2018: Razer meets Philips Hue; Smart Lighting meets Razer Chroma

With Razer being one of the leading experts in lifestyle for gamers, it announces its official partnership with Philips Hue Entertainment. This partnership will see the integration of the Razer Chroma lighting ecosystem with Philips Hue Entertainment API and tools. Now you can have all 16.8 million colours of RHB goodness pulsating through homes.

Through this partnership, you can now sync your Chroma-enabled devices with the Philips Hue smart lighting series of lightbulbs, lightstrips and lamps. Just when you thought the pulsating lights coming off your Razer devices weren’t enough, you can now have the same pulsating lights all over your home. What makes it even better – games like Overwatch and Quake Champions are already compatible with in-game lighting effects, meaning the lighting of your home will be in-sync with your games.

In order to make all this happen, you will first need a Philips Hue V2 bridge, Philips Hue colour-capable lights and the latest software update to the Philips Hue app. Once all that is done, simply add the Philips Hue functionality via Razer Synapse. You can now control all the lighting effects and sequences that goes on around your home through Razer Synapse.

To make sure your Chroma lighting effects pair up with your room, you will need Chroma Studio, another software from Razer. This is what controls the lighting effects for all Chrome-supported devices. Be warned, if you’re not a fan of strobe discotheque lights, you may want to stay away from this. However, if you want to follow the light, this partnership was formed with you in mind.

I for one intend to invest in this because it is too expensive to go for festivals and rave when I can just get the same lighting effects and experience at home. Thanks, Razer.
