AMD 2018 Radeon Vega Mobile Discrete GPU is a smaller, thinner, processor unit made for ultra-thin performance gaming as well as equally slim workstations. The GPU will be 1.7mm Z height and will come with HBM2. Further details of the processor have not seen the light of the yet.
AMD also releases Radeon Instinct Vega 7nm. This will be AMD’s first 7nm product, utilising 7nm Radeon Vega Architecture. Specifically in development for Machine Learning (ML), it is ideal for production level ML Software Stack.
The Radeon Software for all new platforms will also add in support for HDMI 2.1 Variable Refresh Rate Technology. This includes AMD Radeon RX products in an upcoming driver release. This support will come as an addition to the AMD Radeon FreeSync technology umbrella. As is, all are ready for displays with HDMI 2.1 VRR support that are arriving soon.
In conjunction with AMD Radeon updates, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry 5 will support AMD Radeon RX Vega specific features. Among them are Rapid Packed Math and AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 technology. Far Cry 5 will be available on 27 March this year.
AMD also teased the addition Intel Semi Custom Chips, featuring AMD Radeon GPUs, integrated with Intel chips.
