CES 2018: Acer Redefines Convertibility with New Swift and Spin Entries

Acer redefines convertibility with the world’s thinnest laptop, the Acer Swift 7. Appearing at CES 2018, it will now make its way to the rest of the world with an Intel Core i7 processor. This also includes built-in Intel XMM 4G LTE connectivity.

The Acer Spin 3 also makes an appearance with a refreshed look and featuring the new Intel Core i8 processor.

Let’s start with the new Acer Swift 7, an entry that still maintains its “world’s thinnest laptop” record. A new addition to the Swift 7 is its always-connected feature with Windows 10 that is designed for mobility. This is due to the all-new built-in Intel XMM 4G LTE connectivity feature that gives users a consistent wireless connection wherever they are. The Acer Swift 7 will now feature a Nano SIM card tray for users who want to opt for 4G LTE connectivity. Acer also throws in eSIM technology, which allows the download and activation of eSIM profiles.

The all-new Acer Swift 7 will come with a Transatel profile. This includes up to 1GB free data for one month in 48 countries.

Internally, the Acer Swift 7 houses an Intel 7th Generation Core i7 processor that is capable of lasting up to 10 hours on a single charge. It also features 256GB of PCIe SSD storage and 8GB of LPDDR3 memory. It also includes a fingerprint reader, which allows for password-free logins and a more secure sign-in to Windows Hello.

While still maintaining its unibody aluminium chassis, the Acer Swift 7 will now come with a new 14in Full HD IPS display. It comes with the support of Acer Color Intelligence technology, giving it unprecedented clarity as well as Corning Gorilla Glass NBT on both the display screen and the touchpad.

Acer redefines convertibility further with the new Acer Spin 3 as it rocks an Intel 8th Generation Intel Core processor. It will also feature new storage options. However, details on the storage options are not available. Even so, we will update when the latest findings appear.

The Acer Swift 7 will launch in North America this coming March 2018 with a starting price of US$1,699 (approx. RM6,791.75). It will also be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) as soon as April 2018 with a starting price of €1,699 (approx. RM8,170.82).

The Acer Spin 3, meanwhile, is coming to North America in February 2018 and EMEA in January 2018.

Price wise, both will be selling at US$599 (approx. RM2,394.50) and €649 (RM3,121.17), respectively.
